Cancellation Policy

How payment works right now
During our launch, ChefnMe doesn't process payments and charges no fees. You arrange payment directly with your chef — cash, Venmo, Zelle, or whatever you both agree on. That means any deposit or prepayment, and any refund of one, is settled between you and your chef. The notice windows below are the standard we ask everyone on ChefnMe to honor.
Customer Cancellations
7+ days before event
Cancel anytime with no penalty. If you prepaid your chef anything, they're expected to return it in full.
3–6 days before event
Your chef has likely started planning and sourcing. Agree with them on what's fair for any deposit — many chefs keep part of one at this stage.
Less than 3 days before event
Your chef has likely bought ingredients and reserved the date. Expect any deposit to be non-refundable, and let them know as early as you can.
Cancelling in the app reopens your request, so you can book another chef's quote or get matched again.
Chef Cancellations
If a chef cancels a confirmed booking, anything you already paid them should be returned in full, regardless of timing. Your request reopens so you can book another chef, and we'll help you find an alternative if time permits. Chefs who cancel repeatedly may have their accounts reviewed.
Rescheduling
Need to change the date? Message your chef directly — most are happy to accommodate, especially with 7+ days' notice.
Disagreement about a cancellation?
ChefnMe isn't a party to the payment between you and your chef, but our support team is happy to help mediate.
